KazAzot operates the Shagirli-Shomishti gas field in southwest Kazakhstan. First gas was achieved in early 2015, with all output delivered by pipeline to KazAzot's own fertiliser plant. This is located in Aktau, 450 kilometres to the southwest.Shagirli-Shomishti produces from very shallow reservoirs.
