KazAzot operates the onshore Shagirli-Shomishti gas field in southwest Kazakhstan, which has been producing since 2015. All output is sold domestically, with gas delivered by pipeline to KazAzot's own fertiliser plant. This is located in Aktau, 450 kilometres to the southwest.In 2022, gas production averaged less than 80 mmcfd.
