Asset Report
Skarv Area
Report summary
The Skarv Area is located between the Heidrun and Norne fields in the Halten Terrace area of the Norwegian Sea. The area consists of the Skarv oil and gas field, the Idun gas field, the Aerfugl (previously called Snadd) and Aerfugl Nord (Outer) gas fields, and the small Gråsel oil field. The area has been developed using a purpose-built FPSO vessel, with the production wells tied back using subsea facilities. The fields were brought onstream in 2012 and a year and a half later than originally planned due to construction and installation delays with the FPSO. Oil from the fields is offshore loaded and exported by shuttle tankers. Rich gas is transported via a purpose-built pipeline to the Åsgard Transportation System (ÅTS) and onwards to the Kårstø terminal.
