Tawke and Peshkabir are two major oil fields of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. They are part of the Tawke licence area, operated by DNO. The fields lie within the prolific Zagros Fold-belt and are located in the north of Kurdistan, near the Turkish border. With one of the highest oil production rates in Kurdistan, the Tawke licence area is of strategic importance for both the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and DNO.
