November was a busy month for M&A, with Ophir moving to buy Salamander Energy, SapuraKencana acquiring PETRONAS’ Vietnam portfolio, Fosun completing its Roc Oil deal and Brightoil bidding for Newfield China. Eni continued a solid run in 2014 of global exploration with a gas find in deepwater East Kalimantan. The Indonesian government rejigged the board of PERTAMINA, while the Western Australia government highlighted its commitment to gas DMO. Santos also confirmed a H2 2015 start-up for GLNG.
