Thüringen Becken (the Thuringian Basin) is located in the central/northern part of the Thüringen state in central Germany. It is a very small and mature region, with all fields producing sour gas from Permian Zechstein reservoirs. Only four fields are still in production: Fahner Höhe (with three wells), Kirchheilingen (two wells), Langensalza (six wells) and Mühlhausen (nine wells).
