Turgai Petroleum, a 50:50 JV between PetroKazakhstan and KVK-Petroleum, operates the mature Kumkol North and East Kumkol oil fields in the South Turgai basin. Kumkol North, the northern section of the large Kumkol field, continues to provide the most of output.PetroKazakhstan is the dominant operator in the basin and is controlled by CNPC, its PetroChina subsidiary and state-owned NC KazMunaiGas (NC KMG).
