UK North Sea Transition Deal: setting the course for a net zero basin
Report summary
In March 2021, the UK's government and oil and gas sector agreed a deal that will look to leverage the upstream industry's capabilities and accelerate the green energy transition. Our conclusion is that the deal is a step in the right direction, but more - and quicker - progress is required around funding, carbon pricing and regulation to really kick start investment. In this Insight, we examine how achievable the deal's targets and ambitions are in supply decarbonisation, CCUS and hydrogen.
