On 15 June 2021, a US federal court ordered an injunction, reversing the "pause" on new oil and gas lease sales implemented by the Biden administration. While the court ordered the US Department of Interior to "unpause" lease sales until a verdict is reached, the implementation of the injunction is not yet clear.
