US GoM Lease Sale 257 moves ahead after legal battle
Report summary
After an executive order in January that put a ‘pause’ on new leasing, and a court battle (still ongoing) between the federal and state governments, the Department of the Interior released the record of decision for Lease Sale 257 at the end of August. The lease sale date is set for 17 November 2021. In this insight, we provide our view on expected bidding activity and spend. We also identify blocks that could potentially attract bids.
