The Western Isles Project comprises the Harris and Barra fields, located to the south of Hudson in the northern North Sea. The fields were originally expected to be developed as four separate accumulations - Barra, Harris, Lewis and Uist. However, the Harris and Lewis fields were later considered to be one field called Harris, while Barra and Uist became known as Barra.
