Yakaar-Teranga is a gas field in Senegal, 80 kilometres from shore, in water depths of more than 2,500 metres. It was discovered in 2017. Development is on hold due to the cost and complexity of the project. BP's exit from the project in 2023 suggests the risk-reward balance of any investment project is poor.
