The Yombo heavy oil field was discovered in 1988. The field was developed using two wellhead platforms tied-back to a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, where all the crude was processed. Perenco has operated the field since 2002. The field was operated under concession terms until 2015 when a new production sharing contract (PSC) was signed.
