In 2025, we will see how Asia Pacific is trying to develop its own advantaged resources, via revised gas policies, new licensing rounds and exploration frontiers.
Block licensing will proliferate, with acreage on offer across Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. These efforts will be aided by any exploration success. We’re keenly watching Oil India and ONGC start drilling in the frontier waters of the Andaman Islands, with implications for many countries bordering those waters. We also discuss the other exciting wells to watch for 2025.
Eni and TotalEnergies have made their mark on Asia Pacific over the last few years and we expect more in the coming year. But will it be via FIDs, the drillbit, farm-ins or M&A?
Lastly, there are big projects coming onstream in Australia and India this year, but they face some unique challenges as their operators endeavour to hit targets.
Agenda:
• In it to win it – another big year for licensing
• New frontiers in a sea of mature exploration
• M&A and FIDs: all eyes on the European Majors
• Changing gas market policies
• Key project startups…and why they are challenged
