Could 2017 see renewed interest in the North Sea? Although North Sea investment by the Majors has fallen 60% since 2013, private equity–backed companies are entering the fray, bringing with them an estimated US$15 billion marked for North Sea acquisitions.

With 15 billion barrels of undeveloped resource in the UK and Norway, this presents a huge opportunity for these new companies. In our recent article, we weighed in on whether this change to the corporate landscape is a good thing.
