Report summary
At about 1:25 am on 12th April, a fire and explosion occurred at the Pengerang Integrated Complex (PIC) in Johor, Malaysia. The fire was contained by the emergency response team onsite and extinguished by 2:15 am. The company began commissioning activities at its new refinery in January, and was in the midst of stabilizing refinery operations when the incident occurred. The company is understood to have shut the CDU while investigations are underway.
