Sustainability: an overview of brand owner attitudes and activities
Report summary
This multi-client report looks as how brand owners have become interested in using recycled materials to reduce their companies' carbon footprints. This trend ha happened is in response to concerns about greenhouse gases and the need for companies to develop "sustainability" policies. Brand owners' focus on recycled materials has given a major boost to recycled polyethylene terephthalate resin (RPET), particularly in food-grade packaging applications. At present, there is limited legislation governing the use of recycled material in PET packaging. Despite this, the majority of brand owners have made statements on the use of recycled content in their packaging, sometimes with specific targets. This report provides an understanding of the various commitments made by 23 of the leading global packaging brand owners and retailers.
