A scenario modelled to study the accelerated impact of these drivers on polymer demand into vehicles predicted that while electrification and lightweight is expected to increase total polymer demand, recycled content policies could result in a reduction of virgin polymer demand compared to Wood Mackenzie’s base scenario.
