China to restart coal imports from Australia?
Report summary
There have been rumours since 2022 indicating that Australian coal will return to China sometime in early 2023. Several state-owned companies were said to be granted the right to resume the business. We interviewed our contacts in the market to gather their opinions. As a result, we think that even if the rumours do materialise soon, the lifting of the ban on Australian coal will not be a game changer for the coal market in the short term.
