Despite strong Indian coal production, logistics issues constrained the supply to meet demand growth. With the advent of summer, coal demand for the power sector to remain firm. Demand from the non-power sector will continue to be steady with mostly promising economic indicators for the country. Thermal and metallurgical coal imports made a tepid start in 2022.
