Mamahak Coal Mining (MCM) is a coking coal project consisting of four concessions owned by Kangaroo Resources Limited (KRL) through its subsidiary, PT Karsa Optima Jaya. MCM operates in Kutai Barat regency, East Kalimantan province. MCM obtained an IUP in 2010 for coal mining. MCM initially started coal production in the first quarter of 2009, before KRL acquired MCM in 2009. MCM then restarted production in 2010, reaching a stable production in the same year. However, the mine has been suspended in 2014 due to low river levels and unfavourable market but the mine is expected to resume its operations in 2025.
