Report summary
Moranbah South is a longwall coal project targeting the Goonyella Middle (GM) seam in the Moranbah coal measures. The project is jointly owned by Anglo American and Exxaro Resources. The coal tenements are located approximately 190 kilometres south-west of Mackay and 7 kilometres south east of the town of Moranbah. The mine will produce a single product, hard coking coal for the export market. Moranbah South's coal reserves are covered by Mining Development Lease MDL277 and parts of MDL377.
