Report summary

Are we headed for a shortfall in coal supply in 2017? Natural gas price futures are now consistently trading above US$3.00/mmbtu for 2017 and we project prompt gas prices will average US$3.48/mmbtu for the year which we estimate will add 60 to 80 Mstpa plus to the demand for Powder River Basin coal (PRB) alone.
