Report summary
Coal-fired generation continues to perform below last years levels and is shaping up to be the lowest annual level in recent history. Producers are having to face the realities of lower demand and many are reducing sales guidance for 2023 and deferring tonnages into 2024. However, given current guidance we see a continued need for cuts, especially as stockpile levels continue to build and threaten to destabilize the market into next year.
