Oregon state authority denies critical permit for Ambre coal export facility
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
On 18 August, the Oregon Department of State Lands (DSL) rejected the removal-fill permit application for Ambre Energy’s Coyote Island Terminal at its Morrow Pacific coal export project. DSL rejected the application on the basis that the project “is not consistent with the protection, conservation and best use of the water resources of the state,” and, further, would “unreasonably interfere” with fishing. Ambre has 21 days to appeal the decision.
