Papayal coal mine
Report summary
The Papayal project will be a surface mine using truck-and-shovel methods. The mine will be located south of the Cerrejon concession and will produce a low-sulphur thermal coal as well as a PCI coal to serve the seaborne export market. In September 2016, Yildirim finalised the purchase of all CCX's assets in Colombia along with a transportation project. We expect Yildirim to bring Papayal online just in 2026 with a small production level.
