Peabody - Powder River Basin coal mines

Report summary

Peabody has three operating mines in the Powder River Basin, North Antelope Rochelle, Caballo and Rawhide. North Antelope Rochelle is one of the largest mines in the world historically producing 100 Mstpa or more. All PRB Peabody coal is marketed domestically to utility customers. Peabody's mines in the Powder River Basin have been pruning production. The reduction is mainly attributable to a planned production cut at NARM, a response to consistently low natural gas prices, more wind generation, consistently low stockpile levels, and recent power plant retirements.
