Shanxi has the largest production of coking coal within China, accounting for approximately 54% of national production. The Shanxi (West) region is the largest source of coking coal in Shanxi and is home to the largest coking coal group in the province, Shanxi Coking Coal Group (SCCG). Shanxi (West) produces some well-known brands such as Liulin, Xiqu and Malan, which are considered benchmark coking coal types and among the best hard coking coal available in China.
