Springvale coal mine
Report summary
Springvale underground mine is located in the Western Coalfield of New South Wales, 15 kilometres north-west of Lithgow. The mine produces thermal coal for export and use in the nearby Mt Piper power station. Springvale operates within mining lease ML1326, which was granted in September 1993 and will expire in 2025. Springvale also holds numerous small leases as well as the lease ML1588 that was renewed in 2004 for a further 20 years. Wood Mackenzie’s asset reports are built from the bottom up, incorporating a number of granular data metrics to ultimately produce our industry standard cash operating costs. This report contains a detailed asset note giving you a holistic view of the asset, including an operational overview through to a timeline of events from inception to now. This qualitative analysis is supplemented by the associated Excel download which enables interrogation of a whole series of cost and production metrics over the life of the asset.
