Asia remains central to the global gas and LNG story, with regional demand set to grow around 3% annually through 2035, driven by power demand from data centres, coal replacement, and economic growth. Production trends vary: China leads growth through NOC investment and Russian imports, Southeast Asia slows decline with upstream recovery, while South Asia faces faster depletion and greater import dependence. Following a softer 2025, LNG demand is projected to rebound from 2026 as new supply lowers prices and reshapes market dynamics. Realising Asia’s growth ambitions will require over US$16 billion in LNG infrastructure and 200 bcma of new pipelines by 2035. The full report and dataset to 2050 are available in the downloads section and Lens Gas and LNG.
