Commodity Market Report
Malaysia gas markets long-term summary H1 2015
Report summary
Peninsular Malaysia faces a gas supply glut. In April 2015, additional gas supply from the MTJDA has begun to flow the Malaysia piped gas network. Coupled with the ramp-up of North Malay Basin volumes and growing LNG imports, there will be a tussle for more market share. We forecast PETRONAS seeking to maximise LNG imports that will cause domestic gas producers to see reduced piped gas nominations until this supply glut is worked through.
