North America gas markets new industrial capacity update Q4 2016/Q1 2017
Report summary
After a slow 2015, industrial demand picked up in 2016, as 23 projects came online, adding almost 0.5 bcfd of new gas demand. Meanwhile, methanol and fertilizer imports continue to decline. Still, we delayed projects that haven’t started construction with a 2018 start-up date, mostly fertilizers, which will affect our short-term outlook.
