Commodity Market Report
North America gas weekly update: Colder January
Report summary
Henry Hub gas prices are expecting much colder weather in January. That’s not a hard request considering the week ending 31 December is expected to produce only a double digit storage withdrawal. Mother weather will ultimately decide where the market heads as we start 2022, but fundamental questions that are important in the next few weeks include: • Are record US gas production levels for real and is there more upside? • Will Canadian net imports recover higher despite the cold weather? • How quick will Calcasieu Pass LNG ramp up to negate the supply gains if they occur?
