After the second warmest December on record, colder weather is finally set to appear in January. With last January being extremely mild, year-over-year comparisons will be tough to beat. The US L48 working gas storage surplus that is set to balloon to 547 bcf by the week ending 29 December will finally start to contract. This weekly natural gas commodity report seeks to explore: • How far are heating degree days set to rise above normal? • Where is US gas production growth headed? • Will the storage surplus expand or contract versus the five-year average?
