North America gas weekly update: Spring break
Report summary
March has proved to be milder and no cold is in sight as we enjoy Spring break. Winter may not be fully over but essentially it is closing out. This winter as a whole has actually been slightly milder than normal. Record December warmth and a mild March close out are weighing in heavy. Despite such, gas storage withdrawals and freeze offs have been higher than normal. An uphill battle remains to refill back to adequate levels prior to the start of winter 2022/23. Both geopolitical and financial risks remain high and continue to exert pressure on North America gas market fundamentals.
