Bangladesh trip report - Power, LNG and upstream takeaways
Report summary
Wood Mackenzie attended the Bangladesh Power Summit 2017 in Dhaka in early July. Principal analyst Chong Zhi Xin presented a paper on 'Power trends in South Asia and the role of LNG'. In Bangladesh, clear developments are taking place across the energy sector in power, gas and upstream. As a result of the Speedy Supply of Power and Energy Special Provision Act enacted in 2015, the government has been able to enter into direct negotiation with private companies to fast-track projects. We highlight some of the findings from this visit.
