FSRU Markets in Asia

Report summary
Asia is underweight when it comes to using FSRUs and FSUs. In 2016 Asia accounted for around 70% of global LNG imports, but only about 20% of FSRU trade. But The outlook for FSRUs in Asia is however positive. Asia is not only the biggest, but it also is the fastest growing region for LNG. In our LNG corporate service we track Asia’s emerging LNG buyers. In Q1 2017 there were 65 companies, who have announced plans to import LNG across the region. Many of these emerging buyers will be looking to FSRUs as a cheaper and faster way to import LNG.
