Commodity Market Report
Global gas & LNG weekly summary: 21 Dec 2023
Report summary
NE Asian Cold Sparks Near-Term Price Surge, Hinting at Winter's Bite Ahead Heading into last weekend, TTF continued to extend its run of declines, reducing from $11.6 for January front month prices to 10.6. However, exiting the weekend, the European hub saw a deviation in trend as growing tensions in the Middle East raised concerns about the safety of shipping movements in the Red Sea, causing prices to rebound as high as 11.4. If these routes were to be affected, this could reduce LNG supply flowing to Europe.
