Global LNG supply tracker Q4 2018: the Pacific supply wave comes to its end
Report summary
The year 2018 is a bridging year between the last Pacific projects and the final wave of Atlantic facilities. LNG output is expected to reach 324 Mt of LNG (+9% y-o-y). After a surprisingly tight summer, supply growth will accelerate during winter 2018/19 as six new trains are set to hit the market. The focus will shift to the Atlantic in 2019. LNG supply growth will accelerate again, adding some 41 Mt. This will be the strongest year ever for supply growth in the LNG market. However, output is expected to remain seasonal with limited incremental month-on-month growth in summer 2019.
