Mozambique LNG is being developed to commercialise gas from the Area 1 offshore block. Led by Anadarko, the Mozambique LNG partners discovered over 62 tcf of gas between 2009 and 2013. TotalEnergies now operates the block. It acquired it from Anadarko, following Occidental's acquisition of Anadarko in 2019.The LNG development plan was approved by the government of Mozambique in early 2018.
