Obskiy LNG was a subsidiary of NOVATEK with two fields in Yamal-Nenets - West Seyakhinskoye and Verkhnetiuteiskoye. Both are less than 100 kilometres away from the port of Sabetta. In June 2021, the LNG project was abandoned and the subsidiary was renamed into Obskiy Gas Chemical Complex.Initially, NOVATEK was intending to build an LNG plant near the site of Yamal LNG.
