OLT Offshore LNG Toscana is located 22 kilometres offshore from the port city of Livorno in northwest Italy and is the country's first floating regasification terminal. The first phase of construction started in February 2010. On the 8th of September 2013, the first LNG offloading was completed via ship-to-ship transfer. Commissioning activity lasted from September until December 2013 and the terminal started commercial operations on 20th of December 2013. In March 2019, Frist State Investments (a global asset manager) acquired Uniper's 48.24% stake in the terminal. This was followed in September by Snam who bought IREN's 49.07% stake in the terminal, becoming the terminal's largest shareholder. The OLT Offshore LNG Toscana is experienced a rapid increase in utilisation since late 2018 driven by a glut in global LNG supply. Utilisation in 2019 averaged at approximate 90%. This level of utilisation at OLT is expected to be sustained in 2020
