On Sunday 14 June, the US, Iran, and Pakistan – the mediating party – announced a 60-day ceasefire extension. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been electronically signed, laying the foundation for a comprehensive peace agreement to be negotiated over the next two months. In the meantime, both sides have agreed that the Strait of Hormuz will reopen on Friday 19 June, following an official signing ceremony in Switzerland.
