What does default mean for Argentina's energy sector? Locked out of capital markets, Argentina must reduce its growing energy import bill. It can either increase domestic hydrocarbon production by encouraging external investment in its upstream sector, or cut its energy demand by reducing end-user price subsidies. Neither option is easy, but Argentina is running out of time.
