Report summary
Arcata is an underground mine that commenced operations in 1964. Mining is by conventional and mechanised (trackless) cut-and-fill, breast or overhand stoping using timber support with underground access via three declines: Mariana, Marion and Macarena. Ore is treated by flotation to produce a silver-gold bulk concentrate which is then hauled 50km to the Ares plant for further processing into dore.Arcata is a primary silver mine where silver accounts for 85% of net revenue, with the balance due to gold.
