Balunmahai - Lithium brine

Operated by Qinghai Jintai Lithium, Balunmahai is a lithium brine project located in Lenghu County, Qinghai, China. Using solvent and centrifugal extraction methods, Jintai Lithium has the capacity to produce 3ktpy of lithium chloride and lithium carbonate at the Balunmahai Salt Lake. An expansion to 10ktpy is expected to become operational in 2022. This will use absorption technology to produce battery grade lithium carbonate.
