Black Angel Restart zinc mine
Report summary
The Black Angel mine was previously in operation from 1973 to 1990, operated by Greenex A/S (controlled by Cominco) and then Boliden Mineral AB. 11.2Mt of ore was extracted during this period of a total resource of 13.6Mt. The mine entrance is located 600-700m above sea level in a sidewall of the Affarlikassaa fjord, with the only flat ground being on the other side of the fjord, which originally housed the concentrator and accommodation site.
