Report summary

The property is owned and operated by the Canadian Malartic partnership, a 50:50 joint venture (JV) between Yamana Gold and Agnico Eagle. The mine is a conventional truck and shovel open pit operation with ore treatment in a 2.2Mt/a agitated leach plant to produce a gold-silver dore. The mine was developed and commissioned by Osisko Mining in 2011 at initial capital costs of US$1.1 billion. At an average gold production rate of over 600koz/a, Malartic is set to be Canada's largest gold mine. In 2017, the mine produced 633koz of gold and 682koz of silver.
