Catalina Huanca exploits a epigenetic deposit with carbonate replacement through a polymetallic underground mine. The ore is processed by a 2ktpd conventional concentrator. The plant produces copper, lead and zinc concentrates which are shipped through the El Callao port. The mine is located in the Fajardo Province in the Ayacucho Department of Peru at an average elevation of 3600masl. It is a 708km by road from Lima via the Libertadores Wari Highway.
