Century Aluminum Company metals summary

Report summary

Century Aluminium was formed in 1995 by Glencore International as its aluminium unit and was listed in 1996. The sale of its bauxite and alumina assets in August 2009 saw the company focus primarily on aluminium smelting, with ambitions to diversify geographically. At the start of 2015, the company had interests in three operating smelters in the USA and one in Iceland. In July 2015 Century decided to permanently close the Ravenswood smelter in West Virginina, USA.
