In 2021 three underground mines (San Bartolo, Aurora and Rey y Reina) feed ore through the shaft the Los Leones to the concentrator. The mill capacity is 4.1kt/d but the mill usually operates at reduced capacity of 3.9kt/d for 330-337 days/a. In mid-2021, the mill was reported to be running at 4.0kt/d. Charcas was considered the largest zinc producer of Mexico.
